CSP - Conservation Stewardship Program
The Conservation Stewardship Program (SCP) is a voluntary conservation program administered by NRCS that provides farmers and ranchers with financial and technical assistance to conserve and enhance soil, water, air and other natural resources on their land. It rewards producers who have been excellent stewards of the land, and provides an incentive for them to expand conservation activities.
Eligible lands include cropland, grassland, improved pastureland, and rangeland. (Lands currently enrolled in other conservation programs such as CRP, GRP or WRP are not eligible.)
In order to quality applicants must:
1) Be the operator of record in USDA's farm records management system for land being offered for enrollment.
2) Have documented control of the land for the term of the proposed contract. (CSP contracts are 5 years in length.)
3) Include eligible land in the entire operation as represented for other USDA programs.
4) Be in compliance with federal regulation codes concerning highly erodible land, wetland conservation and adjusted gross income provisions.
Call (701) 845-3114 Ext. 3 or visit website for sign-up deadline on additional information.
